New Blog Freebie....Heritage Love!

Here is a little something I found while cleaning off my desktop. It was part of a Treasure Chest color palette for the month of November that I don't think I had got finished with the Holidays and school...just wanted to share something with you all that have been stopping by. I know it isn't bright and cheerful, but I thought it would go nice with some Heritage Love Story.....LOL

Well I hope you enjoy...I am working on a charity collab and then a surprise for you that I am working on a collab with someone between school and all I am not sure when but I have to relax sometime. That is why I got caught up in scrapping the last few days...I so miss it and I want to try to keep up with 365 and do layouts for some, but not all days...I will get the next few days off my camera tomorrow and post them by the weekend. Hope you enjoy your goodies....HUGS!

JUST SCRAPPING and SHARING

Well it was my first week back in classes so I haven't done much in the way of designing, but I have been relaxing by doing some scrapping. As I am cleaning up my hard drive I have found a couple of kits I bought and haven't used yet...imagine that, finding a kit you haven't used yet...LOL. And how many do you have????? But we won't go there....250 gig drive with 200 gig full of nothing but digital scrapping and photos.

This first one is my Day one photo for the 365 photo challenge... read comments below each one!

Day 1- We have been going to the Quick's house for New Year's dinner for about four years now. Laura and Gerry are good friends of ours and with the holidays being so busy, we get together on this day each year to have a special dinner and visit.

Day 9 - By request of my BFF, Linda, I decided to take a few pictures of my "feathered babies" The first one is Ruby and the second is Elmo, which I haven't scrapped yet but will do and add late this week.

Ruby is an Grand Eclectics(one of the only parrots that you can tell the females-which are red from the males-which are green), that I got as a hatchling and hand feed her after her first 6 weeks with her mother, Scarlet (a bird I hand feed at a pet store that I worked at years ago). Scarlet ended up being donated to the Brevard Zoo as her owner couldn't handle her (they are known as being biters and one person birds). Anyway Scarlet laid her first egg after she arrived at her new home, Charlie (my ex-husband works at the zoo as a Keeper) found her egg in time to take it into the nursery to be put in an incubator. A few weeks after she hatched, Charlie's boss asked if he wanted the bird as he had found the egg and took care of it plus he also knew and had handled Scarlet from the pet store...we are talking about an $800.00 bird retail...just a little history. There is more to that history but I won't bother with how I ended up with her.

The hatchling was my beloved "RUBY". She Hatched the same day as my first grandson, Chaz, was born, Dec 26. 15 years ago. But over the years, Ruby has become VERY VERY attached to JJ (my partner) and doesn't have nothing to do with me. She even goes as far as trying to attack me, (yes the hand that feeds her) if she is out of the cage on the floor and sees me (boy would that be a picture for the 365 photo challenge...LOL). So needless to say she is no longer my bird, my "Baby Girl" (one of the words I taught her) is JJ's Bird.
Yes she is a biter too, except for JJ, He can do anything with her, which she loves. Doesn't talk much, but can sure get you hopping by thinking your cell phone is ringing.

Day 6- I stopped by to see my sweet little guys to see them ride their new bikes. As they were getting excited and wanting to run out the door, I stopped them to take this photo and being so excited about going out side, they weren't to happy to stop for ANOTHER photo, Grandma!

Well, I hope to have a few goodies for you all by the end of the week. I started a little something and will post as soon as I get it all together. Have a wonderful week and see you around scrapland!

Here is a layout I did with Vicki's new kit, Chocolate Valentine. You can find her kit Here in her store at Eidou . Make sure you check out her blog too as she always has awesome stuff. Usually a full kit each week. Please make sure you post a comment on her blog to let her know how we all appreciate her beautiful work.

I hope you like it Vicki. This kit is awesome and wonderful to work with. I love how the textures of the papers and everything else looks after I posted. GREAT job Vicki....it is a most have kit for all your Valentines.
Day 2- This is one of my niece, Gracie. She is one of the little girls I have been scrapping for the last four years...anyway I went to visit my sister for the weekend and we were out side with the girls and Gracie just had to show me how to use her fishing pole in her pool. She was a very good caster too!
Good afternoon everyone... I hope you are enjoying your evening. So how is everyone doing with the huge challenges that I have noticed all over scrapland, Project 365 photo per day? When cruising my regular blogs and sites, I have seen all kinds of versions of this very popluar challenge. I have been working on mine too. Woo Hoo, I have taken a photo or two each day....Labeling them and doing some journal notes for each one, too. I will post five more of them tomorrow or Monday, but here is my first layout from that project. I want to do a layout with my new release, Snowflakes, Too! It finally got put in my store last week and this was a good photo (Day 3) to do it with. Here are my journal notes for it:

Day 3- On the second night I was at my sisters, she wanted to share a special kind of ice cream she found, Strawberry Cheese Cake with graham cracker crust in it...and she made me laugh as we had been visiting my mom together over the summer and she was always telling us we were using the wrong bowls for things we were eat....long story...so my sister said, "To share this special ice cream we have to have a SPECIAL bowl, Ice cream cone shaped bowls with SPECIAL SPOONS, too!" and we both laughs so hard....so the picture is Gracie and Amber getting the SPECIAL bowl out and fulling them with the SPECIAL ice cream. Brandon really thought we were crazy as we keep asking each other, "Doesn't is taste better in the SPECIAL bowls and spoons."

New Release in my store at Treasures To Scrap. Keep your eyes out for some new changes upcoming for Treasures To Scrap! Here is a Quick page I made for sharing with you. I used mostly all my new kit but the frames I had got from my dear friend at A Work in Progress aka Vicki Parker which I altered a little. I hope you enjoy it and remember my retirement sale still coming on at TTS, too!

Download Quick Page Here
Can you tell I like this new kit, New release which does match my part of TTS Treasure Chest for Dec, my blog header, and yes I dressed up a new avatar too! I hope you enjoy it too! Thank you for all your support and wonderful comments. Happy Scrapping and 365 photo taking.

Freebie I found and made for you from Bon Scrapatit Design !

Happy New Year everyone. I am sorry I have not been back for a few days, but I am still having trouble getting the one kit I had ready upload to the store, so I thought I would drop by to let you know what was going on. I have been doing well with the challenge 365 Photo Project, but haven't posted any of them yet. I think I am going to just add a slide show here on my blog of the pictures I take. Posting them a week at a time. And as I get the layouts finished I will post what they all mean to me. The photos will be named in the slide show like DAY 1, Day 2, ect. and I will post the meaning weekly with what even I am posting for you.

Here are the first five Days
:

Day 1- We have been going to the Quick's house for New Year's dinner for about four years now. Laura and Gerry are good friends of ours and with the holidays being so busy, we get together on this day each year to have a special dinner and visit.

Day 2- This is one of my niece, Gracie. She is one of the little girls I have been scrapping for the last four years...anyway I went to visit my sister for the weekend and we were out side with the girls and Gracie just had to show me how to use her fishing pole in her pool. She was a very good caster too!

Day 4- This is my SANTA collection. I have been collecting them for about 15 years now...Ole World Santas. I guess because I STILL BELIEVE in the magic of SANTA

Day 5- This is a Snowman I have for a Christmas deco and I was just practicing taking a close up with my new camera on a White subject taking not to have the light glaring off it. Not too bad...Practice makes a better use of the camera...Right?
In her store now "Dreams" by Mel Haines

Here is a layout I did with Mel_H new Digital Kit, "Dreams" You can get it !Scrapbook in her store. This is an adorable baby kit that can be for girls and boys alike. This is my youngest grandson, Xander, 1 month old. Make sure you check out Mel's Blog for a special freebie that goes with this kit...Remember to Thank Mel by leaving her a comment on her blog.

I was during the holidays but I did get a few thing done up ahead for you...like the Quick page, which Bon Scrapatit Designs likes to call the SCRAPATITS. I have to say that I think her And Winter Came is one of the best winter kits I saw in the Christmas Around the World 2008....I love blue and green together anyway, but with the white, glitter and glitz she added...OUTSTANDING job....I love it. It is still on her sidebar available to downloading, but remember to show her lots of love and appreciation for her hard work and her BIG giving HEART.

FREEBIE EXTRAS....WIASWL

Hi, everyone....I have a little goodies to share with you....and a layout I did with Vicki Parker's Winter Wonderland Scrap kit at her store Eidou. It is an awesome kit...you will have to check it out.

Isn't it funny how when the kids get older, they seem to take longer to get a good picture of them together...Brittany and Chaz are no different. They are at the age that "Don't touch me" "Man, do I have to sit so close to her?" I am sure you know all the lines....But Grandma keeps making them do it over and over until I get a good photo of them, or at least try...LOL...This was last year at their house Christmas Day. I hope to have a few more layout made up while I am on Winter Break.......
Ok, Here is your Goodies. I made up a few tags you can print and use if you like....or use them for your layouts with WIASWL....Enjoy. I will have more goodies for you over the weekend.Download Printable Tags Here

First off here is the preview of mine...I tried very hard to step out side of the box working with bright color palette and more of a clean line instead of my usual grungy, look...but as you can see, I did get alittle of it in there. At the end of all our previews is my week one part of the kit...

She loves bright colors and she and I decided to go with more of a tropical wintery look as we both live in warmer climates and never have snow for our holiday seasons. I love what she came up with...the sunglasses are the hoot. As much as I tried working out side of my box...I don't think it come close to what Mel has in store for you! AWESOME job Mel....it was a real pleasure working with you and hope we can do this again. I am so glad to have meet you and Vicki through my wonderful friend, Linda. Thank you gals for including me!

So much so she made two different looks to share over the next four week ....Please make sure you leave her lots of love and comments for her outstanding job...AWESOME job Vicki.....I really love it!
